About Driving Solo
Welcome to the Driving Solo web site and thank you for taking the time to find
out more about what this school has to offer you. Driving Solo is located in
Lytchett Matravers, Dorset; I cover all of Poole, including Lytchett Minster and Matravers,
Corfe Mullen, Wimborne, Ferndown, most of Bournemouth.
Here at Driving Solo I pride myself on being friendly, reliable, and punctual
and most importantly work to a very high standard to give you the very best
chance of passing first time. You get all of this for a very competitive rate
while keeping it fun. I am fully approved by the D.S.A and as with all A.D.Is
(approved driving instructors) I am continually assessed to ensure that I keep
working to the highest of standards.
How to get started
Before you can even think about booking your first lesson you
must make sure you have a valid provisional licence, you can apply for this as
young as sixteen if you want to ride a moped but the car category will not be
valid until you turn seventeen. Also before your first lesson it might be wise
to get your eyes tested to ensure you can read a car number plate from the
required distance of 20.5 metres. This will be tested on your first lesson so if
you need glasses or contacts please make sure you bring them plus your licence
to avoid any unnecessary delay or postponement of your lesson.
What you get for
your money?
Whatever your level of
driving experience your training will be fully structured around what you know
already, what you need to work on and what you still have to learn. An
assessment will be carried out on the first lesson to ensure that no time or
your money is wasted on going over old ground. For this reason I’d recommend a
longer first lesson, (one and a half to two hours) to give plenty of time to do
a full lesson as well as an initial assessment.
